Bob's Backyard

Imagine my surprise at seeing the giant heap of trash outside of city hall today. In city hall's defense, I believe it belongs to the bank next door and not city hall BUT Bob's Lexus is even in one of the pictures. He has to know his neighbor is leaving mounds of uncanned trash out many hours before putting trash out is allowed. I believe the bank next door is Citizen's Union...but Bob would never ticket a friend, just the little people that voted for him.

I suppose it doesn't matter since the rats have already taken over city hall.

Update:
To the people that have again indicated I am falsifying information - these pictures were taken around 12:30pm yesterday. The bright light coming from behind government center is THE SUN. Should you be so inclined, I would suggest you take a trip to city hall today around 12:30 and note the position of the sun in relation to the building. Not that I can expect the naysayers to believe it, but the position of the sun can prove the time and the time was HOURS before trash is allowed to be put out.

Shamrock,

This picture is like the plows that were "plowing."

Sure, I see trash bags outside of the bank, but how don't I know that you put the trash bags there just to take this picture?

(Sorry, just anticipating some of the nonsense that will ensue with this photo.)

I know! Look at the trash, it isn't even moving. If only I had a video camera to prove the existence of trash

The trash bags clearly belong to the bank. It's on their property. And how do you know the trash was out many hours before putting trash is allowed? Were you there when they put the trash out? Let me answer that, NO.

It appears to me that the trash bags cover the entire sidewalk up to the building.

Where are the handicap accessibility enforcement officers?

All trash needs to be in cans with lids or you receive a ticket. That what Deputy Dog says!

You know some of you people have a point:

1. How do we know that Shamrock did not steal trash around the city and bring it down there? MMM??

2. How do we know that Shamrock did not pay someone to bring trash to that spot? MM??

3. How do we know that Shamrock did not doctor the photo with a picture of trash taken from Ladies Home Journal? MM

4. That trash could be in barrels but Shamrock caused an optical illusion? She can be clever that way.

Thank you, you gave me my first laugh of the day! I did note that the trash bags likely belonged to the bank, however, the trash is not on their property as you indicated. It is on a public sidewalk, that as an astute commenter noted, cannot be accessed by anyone (handicapped included) due to the placement of the mound of garbage.

And you are correct, I was not there when they put the trash out, but I was there "many hours before putting out trash is allowed." My presence when they put the trash out would only prove it was many MANY hours before putting trash out is allowed.

Did you open any of the bags to see what was in them ? Could govt ctr be pulling an ollie north?
Envelopes that bribes, I mean campaign political contributions arrive in perhaps?!

I saw these bags outside the bank at about 9:10 a.m. Tuesday. It's not the first time I've seen them there, as I always wonder how much trash one bank can generate.

Not for nothing, but I went by at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and the bags were there but gone around 7 p.m. on the same day.

The law states that they should be put out after 6pm on the day of pickup. 9:10am to 5:59pm they were breaking the law. But more than that they were causing a blight on our city. It looks disgusting for citizens to go into the post office, or to go to government center and see that mess. What a shame. That's real Pride City Wide.

You are awesome! Just thought you should know that.

If you saw the bags on Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m. and they were picked up on Tuesday as Anonymous 05:42 stated what is the problem with the time? The trash could have been put out legally anytime after 6:00 p.m. Monday.

Monday was a holiday. No trash pickup, so it would have been the day after.

But more importantly, you miss the point. There is trash in bags on the street. The ordinance states they should be covered. You think this might be why there are so many rats in the city?

As a community bank, shouldn't Citizens-Union not only follow the law, but be above it where it can? I can't believe they throw their trash out like this period.

I agree. It looks bad for the neighborhood. I'm calling Citizens Union tomorrow to voice my concern with this and ask everyone on this post to do the same.
