Questions

Why was HIPAA law of the utmost importance on Monday, when the city refused to release even the name of the school, where the swine flu stricken employee worked; but on Wednesday was irrelevant when, current city council president, Joe Camara gave the newspaper a status update on the declining health of the injured DPW worker, while he was dying?

How can current Bristol County Sheriff, Tom Hodgson, claim he is a fiscal conservative, who is out of money, because the governor didn't give him enough, yet still afford to build a television studio at the Dartmouth House of Corrections so he can broadcast his wisdom to the public access masses?

Why is Pat Casey's pothole-free street (Mount Hope Ave) getting paved again when there are lethal potholes in the city?

Why is Bob Correia running again?

**To the person in the comment section of my last post who knows everyone in dispatch and called "bullshit" on my statements about the conversation my friend had in a call to the police last weekend, as I was writing this post and listening to the scanner (at approx 5:45 if you want to check the tapes), I thought of you:
Officer "361 to 4, can someone at the police station answer the phone please"

Dispatch "If there were enough people yeah"

~~~~Keep in mind I am not blaming the police/dispatch/etc for this whatsoever, but IT IS happening, at no fault of their own...if we keep it quiet it will continue to happen~~~speak up!!
and why was the city council president commenting on medical information ??
Tom Paine said...
Why do we ask so many questions, and get no answers?
It is all a matter of the "RELEASE" ...If you have permission of the person involved then you are able to "SPEAK" to the public ....If no "RELEASE" has been obtained then all medical information is confidential
another question: what is the story behind bringing back laid off workers part time while they collect? what is the story behind the union grievance that stopped the overtime? Watch the recent city council meeting video when the finance team and pacheco were questioned about bringing back laid off workers.
Why do Brian Cunha & Associates seem to be mentioned in the paper lately? Stip Club, dpw worker story?
Why is our labor attorney representing these folks in front of the zoning board??
Former state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson pleaded not guilty yesterday to another 23 corruption charges - dating to 2002 - alleging she pocketed thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for her influence on a city land deal.
The new indictment, returned last month, alleges that Wilkerson accepted payments, from $500 to $1,200, from an unnamed businessman from 2002 to 2006 in exchange for help on his plans for a $100 million development on state-owned land on Harrison Avenue.
Do you think Joe Camara got a release from a man in a coma? I guess that isn't really the point I was making because I don't think a municipal employer is an entity covered by HIPAA anyway. I am just pointing out that what is good as an excuse one minute by our "leaders", is contradicted the next.
Anon 9:58 -
What IS up with that? Seems like a great way to union bust.
Anon 10:44 -
The new ugly billboard for Atty Cunha over on milliken blvd must be working for him.
Anon 11:27 -
I also question why a city-paid attorney is representing people who are asking the city for things. There is a reason it isn't allowed, although I believe he did get a waiver or special permission or something.
Does anyone know if the FREE committee has been formed? Have they met?
Is camara a personal friend of the dpw worker and felt he could comment?
There has been problems with dispatch ever since police took over dispatching fire and EMS. Some are professional, while others are incompetent. Some dispatchers want no part of fire and police, and it is obvious by their work.
Most disgusting thing I have ever read. Personal attacks like that should have no place on this blog and should be deleted.
LOL Kashman rules!!!!!!
Sounds like some high school guys doing a lousy job ripping off Kashman. Or maybe it was someone who just thinks it's high school.
Fall River — St. Anne’s Church parishioners said a wooden crown of thorns has been stolen.
“I’m just befuddled,“ the Rev. Mark Bergeron told a Providence television station.
More Sterile Loser reporting right off the tv!
and to top it off, the radio will do the same.
One of the reasons I stopped putting my business ads in The Herald...direct mail works better costs less and direct mail isn't a joke...like the herald
Sour grapes. Grind your personal agenda elsewhere transparent loser.
Anonymous said...
You take an ad out in The Sterile and they deliver it to retired sweatshop workers...the only people who read that rag...and they have no money...If you're selling Dentucream, the Sterile is the way to go
Anonymous said...
Sorry dentucream is not a word. Does your family have daily delivery?
Anonymous said...
Depends, then. Why have daily delivery of a paper that takes two minutes to read?
Anonymous said...
It's true the Sterile is read mostly by old people who just read it all their lives...and all they want is the obits...my vavo reads the Sterile Snooze...I don't
You have to love the cowards who anonymously blog with such fervor. I believe the term is "internet tough guys". LMAO This guy probably still hides under his Mommy's skirt. It makes you wonder what kind of "business" he has. I'm guessing he's in tampon sales... that way he can get a discount for himself. The best part is how this feckless fool states he doesn't read the Herald News in the wake of having extensively opined on its content. What a dumbass. LOL
And your name is?
I read the Herald on-line for free sometimes to count the mistakes. It's fun. But I pulled my advertising because it didn't work. I would never pay for the Herald.
Anonymous said...
Why do we care?
Anonymous said...
I think the biggest waste of money of all would be to advertise on WSAR.
Anonymous said...
since you have no business to advertise I doubt WSAR or Herald News give a rats ass what your views are on advertising. go back to sleeping at your desk waiting for your city pension to kick in
Anonymous said...
I have a business to advertise and your best bet is to advertise on one of the top rated FM stations, there are likely to be more Fall River folks as well as many others from surrounding areas listening to one of those stations at any given time as opposed to an often ignored small time AM station with virtually no audience (like WSAR).
What is amazing is that according to the commentors neither the radio station or the daily are effective advertising tools or news entities, yet without either this city be WORSE OFF and the only reason there is corruption is the relentless belief that witha weak media, politicians, police etc. can do whatever they want without any public retribution.
Yes, both entities are sufering from the down economy and each probably wishes it had a half dozen more reporters, but to consistently read here and elsewhere that our problem is the local media, when if eiether fell off the map, we would be in more trouble thatn we already are, is pure stupidity.
so, if buy ads on SAR and The Herald and they don't bring me business, I'm supposed to keep advertising anyway?
losts of Anonymous listings here??
I agree if the newspaper went away there would be no watchdog for the Correia administration especially but if the radio station went away... hmmm, happy days are here again!
W.J. Bloggah said...
If the newspaper went away, there'd be about 10 disappointed "Hurricaine" fans, but that's OK, they can just go to the St James or the BA EVERY NIGHT and watch him do his tired schtick live and in person. The rest of the Southcoast probably wouldn't notice...
WJB said...
Replace "newspaper" with "radio station" in the above diss...
Anonymous said...
I don't want the radio station to go away, maybe just new ownership. We need a radio station just not the incrdibly biased one that we have.
