Too funny, lol. Hard to imagine that even Al Alves would have done worse than Bob Correia, he probably would have done better and I never would have though that before. Poulin was always leaps and bounds ahead of the others in the field in 2007 because at least he always spoke in specifics, something that is so rare in city politics and politics everywhere.

Even Al Alves knew that Eric was the best candidate ... We should all convince Eric to run for Mayor ...

Looks like the kickoff is tonight, Friday, May 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on North Main Street. I think it is worth going.

On Wednesday, Vice and Intelligence Unit and Major Crimes Division detectives, armed with a search warrant secured by lead Detective John Cabral, set up surveillance in the area of the housing complex for the search target, Medina, said police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Mauretti.

This story was in Saturday Sterile News...but it happened on Wednesday?
Way to hustle, Sterile Loser.

Well I attended Eric's kickoff when he ran for mayor and for council and there weren't tons of people at either but he certainly did well before. A friend of mine went to Bob Correia's last fundraiser at the Eagle and told me nobody was there yet I think he is still predicted to be the frontrunner right?

I think political events are like yard signs, you can't say someone is going to win because they have a lot of yard signs or lose because they don't get a lot to their events. People that think that yard signs or political times and rallies win races have been proven wrong over and over again.

I do think Eric has an uphill battle because he still has a reputation for being anti-establishment, if that's the case then many people might not want to be seen at his events but what they do in the voting booths may be something different entirely. I think that was the story the last time. You have to think last time there were a lot of people too who thought he had no chance of winning so wouldn't give him a vote. Is that different this time?

There was more like 100 people there at the elks in a room that could probably fit 150 or more. If they would've picked a smaller room it would've looked like a huge turnout but that's an old political machine type trick so maybe these guys haven't caught on yet on how to do that stuff or maybe they don't want to.

Next Council = Leo, Casey, Pereira, Kilby, Poulin, J. Camara, M. Lund, R. Mitchell, and Bigelow.

I agree and the final mayoral election will be Correia and Viveiros. Corriea will win a close one.

I think Poulin gets called anti-establishment because he pitched a number of ideas the last time he ran that detailed fairly specifically how he wanted to change a number of things. Anyone that wants to change anything in Fall River gets viewed as anti- establishment which is silly.

If Poulin had a lot of politicians at his event that is probably a sign that they feel he may win so they are starting to schmooze with him now because they may have to work with him. Maybe they know better than I do but I'm not so sure that you won't see people like Kilby, Mitchell and maybe Earl Gaudette or another old timer who makes another run take one of the supposedly 3 open spots. Speaking in specifics instead of generically has never been a formula for success in Fall River politics and I'm not sure Poulin is going to be able to break that trend.

One last thing, if you can get 5-10people in a room in Fall River to talk politics then you are a success by Fall River standards. Look at the City Council meetings, most of the time they speak to an empty house and all the grandstanding that goes on is just for the benefit of the tv cameras so that when it airs on tv they will look good to the 2 people that watch city council meetings on tv instead of more important stuff like Oprah.

I'm voting for him now and I voted for him when he was running for Mayor. I think he's intelligent and honestly wants to do right by the people of Fall River.
