Ethically Challenged

City Council Pres. Joe Camara and VP Linda Pereira have violated the code of ethics with their behavior. They should have been arrested for interfering with a police officer. If any real danger existed, DSS would have been called. Call the Ethics Commission, don't let them drop this. Contact, Executive Director Karen Nober @ 617-371-9500. It's harder to ignore a crowd than just one person. FRPD filed a complaint, let's back them up.

Joe Camara, & Linda Pereira I agree need to resign!! They are the reason we get laughed at in Fall River!! I'm sure the Boston Globe will be following up on this investigation!! Far too long has Fall River gotten the shaft from the State House because of it's corrupt people holding office!! It's time to send the packing!!! Before its too late!!

Let me see if I can get my arms around this one..

If I have a drunk woman in my apartment, I can call the President or Vice President of the Fall River City Council, and the FRPD and she disappears?

Fascinating..

Lawsuit? Against whom? The FRPD? Really? For what..doing their jobs? Gatehouse, the owner of the HN?

Be careful with that one..a certain former Stepmom will be gunning for her once and future enemy..

to Anon 14:55, thanks for the tip, Mike!

Maybe we could get Mike & Chrissy & Al Herren, Ken Fiola, Joe Camara, and Scott Brown to form the "Massachusetts Former Minor League B-Ball Degenerate Jerkface All Stars" Team, coached by Skip Karam! And then when they lose, they can get all thretening and litigious with the winning team.

some questions i have ..do police lie in police reports?? do they lie to protect their own?? when was the last time a citizen complaint against frpd was validated?? do you believe everything you read?? do you believe what you read in herald news?? is it possible petty grudges , personal feelings ,and relationships affect people being honest and objective??..just wondering??

lets see multiple stabbings ,domestic killings ,rampant drug sales, teenage gang bangers, and the FRPD have time for an ethic s complaint ...last time i checked ethics complaints were made because the person or people involved were doing something to improperly benefit themselves?? sgt costa is a under educated moron who hasnt done a positive thing for this city in his entire life..rock on hurricane the truth will set you free

I dont believe anything i read in the Herald News and i dont believe anything i hear or read from certain members of FRPD.There are two sides to every story and the truth probably lays in the middle.I Do know that HURRICANE is a good dad however ive seen him at his daughters school a few times and ive seen him out with his daughter.

This was in The Sterile Snooze

"Stop & Shop placed an ad in local newspapers seeking temporary cashiers and clerks. Full-time employees will earn $15 an hour, the ad says, and part-time workers can make $12. Thirteen sites, including the New Harbor Mall location in Fall River, will begin distributing applications Monday."

There's a Stop and Shop in The Harbour Mall? Where? Dummies!

HURRICANE IS BACK. Seriously, stop all the pathetic comments defending yourselves. You are an embarassment to yourself, your family, the radio station and the community.

I have no interest in a washed up athlete. He has no bearing on my life. I do have a vested interest in this city and the elected officials (paid with my tax dollars) who represent and council it. If their judgement is so skewed they don't know the difference between a personal matter and a public service, I have reason to be concerned. Ms. Pereira was abusing the power of her position to win favor with the police. As a former DSS worker, she called the police so they could determine the safety of the child. Why? Because then she could put the blame on them when the charges were unfounded. If there had been any real danger, she could have called the agency herself, directly. The other call she made was to the mayor. What the hell does the mayor of the city have to do with two parents in the middle of a domestic dispute? Did she expect HIM to come out and participate in this drama?
As for Mr. Camara, I would think he'd have brought a breathalyzer test with him. Joe should go back to the used car lot and leave the field tests for sobriety to the police. Both of these individuals have proven that they are sorely lacking in common sense as well as ethics.

onemadmomma Standing O!!! Bravo!!! I could not agree more. I find it hard to believe that the police would purposely go out of their way to railroad these two has beens. It would have been so much easier for Sgt. Costa just to walk away and NOT document anything. One thing I've learned over the years that it easier to blame others (in this case the FRPD) instead of looking in the mirror and taking the resposibility for one's actions. For those who think otherwise are fools. The truth has come out, Pereira and Camara as they in Fall Riva' "have sum splainin to do."

The Ethics Commission meets once a month to determine which complaints will merit further investigations and possible fines. The last meeting was on Jan. 15 the next will be Feb. 19. No info will be made public unless those reported are found guilty and charged and/or fined. The process could take months. However, I'm sure the voices of the people could help to expedite things.

Fall River — Representatives of the Greater Fall River Development Corp. visited the SMILES Literacy-Based Mentoring Program at the Doran Elementary School in Fall River recently to present a $25,000 check to help fund the literacy programming for the 2009-2010 school year. This contribution of $25,000 allows the school-based, one-to-one mentoring organization to continue opening new literacy-based mentoring programs in elementary schools throughout Fall River.

As an economic development organization, the Greater Fall River Development Corporation is committed to helping improve educational attainment demographics in Fall River. Its financial support of SMILES represents an investment in school-based mentoring, which is a proven strategy for helping students achieve their academic and personal potential.

“We are very grateful for this support from the Development Corporation,” said SMILES Executive Director Jim Mathes. “With it, SMILES is that much closer to our goal of opening a literacy-based mentoring program in each of the nine elementary schools in Fall River.”

The Herald News is supposed to do OBJCTIVE reportng on the Development Corporation and FOED and the Development Corp gives $25,000 to the fake program run by easyedit lisa strattan't live in b/f Jimmy Viagara Mathes.

What is needed to recall an official? How many signatures are required? Just out of curiousity..

shamrock said...

You need 10 people to initiate the process, after some paperwork - those 10 people need to collect signatures from 5% of the registered voters, off the top of my head, I would guess that might be 2,500 people. Then there is an election so you need another candidate(s). http://archives.lib.state.ma.us/actsResolves/1980/1980acts0292.pdf

I over herd Barry Richards on WSAR says Joe Camara was thinking of running for the Bristol County Shierff? What a joke!!! While under investigation?? Only in Fall River!!!lol

Anonymous said...

joe camara should run for class clown...lol lol lolo

Anonymous said...

is the recall papers going to be out tomorrow, someone said they will be at shaws on saturday in the south end.....

shamrock said...

I really hope that is true but considering the steps needed to begin the recall process, it seems like a stretch. The recall process requires affadavits be filed with the city clerk and subsequently for the city clerk to provide the affiant petition blanks. I would be surprised if all that happened and it wasn't in the paper.

Innocent until proven guilty but if the Ethics Commission does come back and whack Ice and Dice not only should the voters have a recall but our spineless city councilors should force Ice and Dice to resign or at least take their leadership positions away from them.

What is up with Perreira's daughter all over the HN blogs? Dosen't she have a job? Or is defending her ethically challenged mother the best gig she could get.
