Thumbs up Anon 19:00.

Sometimes people just don't realize how good they have it.

We may be struggling here, but our struggle is nothing compared to the people of Darfur.

Good job Congressman. I hope this works to bring the atrocities of Darfur to the minds of people who can do something about it.

He should become ambassador to Darfur. He is liberal whack job who has done nothing for our part of district. Whatever you name as accomplishments mean nothing to average person in this city. Sick of being represented by elitists who think we are beneath them. If Darfur had oil atrocities would stop

You are probably the same people that have benefited from the $$ McGovern has sent to fall river despite the current mayor/past state rep.

He continues to secure funding and fuel assistance to those that are in between jobs and actually need "transistional benefits" as oppossed to long term help for those that never work.

I have received no public funding or subsidies for anything.

What is happening in Darfur is horrible. But, I don't want my congressman running around Washington getting arrested. It makes him and us look stupid.

What did this guy do before he was a Rep? Before seeing this in the paper, I actually liked McGovern alot. This changes my view of him tremendously.

Did this broad miss even one cliche?
They want to know what's wrong with the Sterile Snooze?
Crap like this.
She should go back to being Al Herren's punch.

I have to admit that readers of The Herald News don’t seem to require an engraved invitation to weigh in on how we as a newspaper are doing. Readers aren’t at all shy about dialing me up and, well, letting loose about whatever may be bothering them. Blessedly, throughout the years we’ve had our fair share of kind souls, as well, who’ve taken time from their busy lives to let us know we’re getting things right.

And, honestly, I appreciate all of it, good and bad. The valuable feedback we receive from our readers informs us as we go forward; it sometimes delivers a much-deserved slap on the wrist or, on occasion, a welcome embrace. But it always helps us to fine tune our mission and our goals as we strive for a better newspaper every day.

The Internet has opened up a whole new avenue for criticism and praise. Visitors to our Web site have taken advantage of our popular commenting section, which accompanies every story, not only to opine about the subject at hand, but to remark about how The HN handled the story. All fair game.

Now, though, we’d like to ever-so-slightly formalize that valuable reader response. Beginning today online, The HN will attach to each of its Page A1 articles a link that will take users to a survey of six simple questions related to their experience with the article. How accurate was it? How interesting? That sort of thing. It only takes about 30 seconds to complete, but I suspect the responses will prove invaluable. There’s no registration required, and there’s even an opportunity to add your own thoughts, if our parameters don’t capture your specific sentiments.

I hope the reward for participating in the surveys will be an improved Herald News that delivers a better experience for you. We are always searching for new ways to engage you, our readers, to learn what you want out of us. I think this is an easy way to learn on large scale what you want in a variety of areas.

There’s an old line I’ve uttered heaven knows how many times when I’ve caught myself chattering on about myself for just a bit too long: “Well, enough about me … Now, tell me what you think about me!” It’s at risk of treading into such self-indulgent territory, that I urge you to tell us what you think about us.

Bloggah,

I can't imagine who would condone that, obviously not the father.
Someone has some HATE for the editor and former wife of mr herren and step mother of the
herren brothers.

I think Hurricane should set them straight, or not???
