we're talking in the st. james pub wed. nite....deal?

that must have been an electric conversation. what deal could those two possibly make.

What the blue hell does that have to do with anything?

Casey is not only good with numbers she is good with dates,
like when is the first day of spring so we can move mcgovern off miller green.

Casey probably doesn't know it is spring yet. She probably still thinks it is the mystery season she referred to, at a city council meeting last month, that falls between winter and spring.

You mean "Sprinter"? Yeah we've had a pretty tough sprinter this year, looking forward to "Sprummer"....

Pat Casey, overall, is a decent human being. Just has a kind heart. I would not call her a moron.

Should she be on the council? No, of course not. She does get confused easily, and she incredibly votes for everything any mayor wants without a question.

That being said, there is no reason to denigrate her.

It is we, the voters to blame, when we vote for individuals who are not qualified. Just because a person is basically a good person, and I truly believe that Pat is a good person, that is not enough of a qualification to vote for that person.

Again, is the voters who are responsible for electing people that are not qualified.

Pat and Leo are dumb as sacks of rocks but God love them they are charming, loveable characters on the Fall River scene and isn't that enough for us? It appears to be. Sure both of them refer to the number three as the number "tree" and other such things but it would be easier to move our city forward with more intelligent people. What fun would that be? We love a good challenge! That's why we've been struggling for decades now.

sorry Tom, Casey is a nice Moron.

Keep posting these snippepts of stupidity, Shamrock. If this were an isolated incident, maybe I'd feel badly for Casey, but she does this ALL THE TIME!

I don't know how much evidence it will take to wake up the people who vote for her and the other lovable incompetents on the council, but this HAS TO STOP!!!

I thought that was an old man talking at first...

Well she does have that George Hamilton glow. I think it's from the years of smoking. Smoking makes you sexy and cool or didn't you know?

at least she has the guts to run for office. i want to see shamrock sit in that chair and make decisons. i am not sticking up for pat because i do think she is incompetent for city council, but picking on an old lady who has done nothing but give her time and efforts for the city is ridiculous.

to anon 13:39 the last time i checked "see" and "c" are phonetically pronounced the same. so when speaking i dont think she says "c" you clown ass

You better come up with something better than that comment to defend Casey! You definitely need to grasp at straws to do that.

Perhaps there was a little picking on her with the title of the post...but these are her words, her incompetence, confusion, etc. We cannot ignore these things because they perpetuate the horrible governmental system we have in place. She may be the nice old lady you claim, but she is a terrible city councilor and needs to go away.

Also, I could easily sit in her chair and make those decisions, using the Casey method - I would just vote the way the Mayor told me to vote.

The entirety of this video was Casey explaining that Cathy Ann Viveiros, Steve Camara, and Ray Hague should give up their attempts at oversight and number crunching and just trust the Mayor's budget numbers, because the Mayor wouldn't give them inaccurate numbers. Where is the oversight or even the basic logic in that?

Did you just refer to casey as a "big dog" ?

"Elected official" is not the most important role in our democracy to get involved. The most important role is that of the informed citizen.

Shamrock and other bloggers read the news daily, watch City Council and School Committee meetings, and then comment on the news and local events. Bloggers take the time to share their opinions on local events, which is a form of civic involvement.

To say that a person's involvement is inconsequential if they don't also run for elected office is silly. People can help their community and love their community without running for office.

Finally, you ignore the point that citizens elect their representatives and that citizens also have to provide a role to oversee the conduct of those officials. To say that an informed citizen is "staying on the sidelines" demonstrates a lack of understanding of democratic principles by that commentor.

LMAO, you're the clown, that's your best defense of Pat Casey? Clearly you didn't and you don't get it.

Monday morning quaterback for how ever many years Casey has been re-elected. Well she has blown the superbowl game every time and it is time for a new quarterback. Get real.

in response to the nitwits above:

why would i bother defending pat casey when i didnt even vote for her. i just think it is stupid to come on a blog and criticize the way she speaks because half of the population of fall river speaks like her. but i forgot all you bloggers got your PHD. thats an acronym for "Player Hating Degree."

Player Hating Degree?

That's pretty juvenile don't you think?

Anonymous said...

So is Hurricane and those that listen to him.

If Shamrock runs for City Council I will vote for him. He goes to every City Council meeting and has more brains and balls than the current City Council members.

SHAMROCK FOR CITY COUNCIL !!!

Anonymous said...

coming onto a blog to create spin is pretty juvenile as well.

Thanks for your vote. I am pleased to see that I have stepped up from candidate for dogcatcher.

Anon 9:42
Sadly for you, I am not a complete moron.....but thank you for your concern.

Anonymous said...

Can you show us instances of spin on this blog?

Anonymous said...

ya the graffiti blog. graffiti is a problem everywhere. it has been a problem before mayor correia and it will continue to be a problem after mayor corriea. the blog about the plows in the karams parking lot. those plows have gone there the past couple of years.

the pat casey blog was not really much spin but most people in the city know that pat casey isnt the best orator in the world. but shamrock knows the bashing of a 60 year old lady is something that will create buzz around the blog.

shamrock will do whatever it takes to get people to blog on here. its a smart tool to use but doesnt fool everyone.

Anonymous said...

Sorry but I get more accurate breaking news here than on the radio. Someone please provide the definition of "spin" !!

Anonymous said...

Isn't your statement spin? "the blog about the plows in the karams parking lot. those plows have gone there the past couple of years." Spin - It's ok that the plows were there because they have been doing it for years.

Anon 14:30, I think you missed the point of the Graphitti post. The point was that many thousands of dollars were spent on this suposedly miraculous graphiti removal machine that, if you look around the city, apparently never gets used. The point was not that the Mayor was responsible for all the graphiti, but rather that he was irresponsible in spending thousands of much needed dollars on something that either doesn't work or if it does work it never gets used. Same with the pothole machine. Where's the spin there?
