Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas - Fall River is about to get itchy

What?! Government officials are getting bribed? .... Fall River wants in on that action.

A few months ago I read an article in the Providence Journal titled something like "City Councilors Arrested by FBI on Bribery Charges." I clicked on the article hoping it wasn't Fall River but with a suspicion that it was. It was not Fall River, it was North Providence so that was a bit of a relief.

The ProJo article told the tale of 3 North Providence city council members and a developer by the name of Richard Baccari. The councilors agreed to change zoning laws for Baccari's development in exchange for $25,000.

Having recently been implicated in a $25,000 bribery scheme, any sensible government officials would probably hesitate to deal with Baccari. But not our dear FROED/Ken Fiola/RDA/Mayor Flanagan. They have proposed to build the UMass biopark on land Baccari owns in Freetown.

Last year, it was brought to my attention that the offramps being built to the biopark originally had a different plan. For some reason unknown to me, the plans for the offramp were changed so that they would run directly through Baccari's land in Freetown. And, that Baccari could potentially make alot of money as a result of the new plan for the offramps. I thought nothing of it at the time because the biopark was coming along as planned. In retrospect, the offramp plan changes certainly seem suspicious.

How convenient for this private developer Baccari, recently implicated in a government bribery scheme, that he could potentially make a ton of money with FROED's (and Will Flanagan too) help.

In a short period of time Flanagan has turned into quite the politician and that's not a compliment. It seem he will take money from whomever and do business with whomever and isn't very particular about who he lets attend his political functions. I heard from someone that attended his last one this past Thursday he had one of his supporters go up to a city councilor and say do you know who I am before dropping several f bombs because they apparently didn't vote for something that this person wanted. Wish I knew more of the details but you may want to look into it Shamrock. Why go to one of these black tie functions if they turn out not to be the type of classy function that they pretend to be?

Maybe Flanagan is Bob's illegitimate son, sure seems like the old boss is same as the new boss.

This mayor is worse than the last one. His highness Bob at least didn't screw the city.

Flim-flam flanagan works overtime to make sure Fall River is changed forever and that his henchman, Teeny Torres, is given free reign to practice his brand of double-dealing law.

Hmmm. Flim-flam Flanagan. I like it.

Fleas?...better run this administration through a vat of SHEEP DIP! Is anyone really surprised by this? Little Willy Nilly has not kept one promise, has no track record of success in anything he's ever done aside from being the HEAD BAG_BOY for a defunct supermarket, stabs one development for the future (Bio-Park) with a prison shiv (?), and wants to cozy up to a industry that puts insta-grow on every type of soul killing and mind warping vice possible (casino gambling). That means he's ALREADY involved in some significant fashion with organized crime, because only a complete ignoramous doesn't know that the Mafia doesn't get a portion of every dollar spent on gambling and all it's known and associated vices. If he isn't actively i9nvolved, he's playing footsie under the table. Take one look at that the two creepy weasels he photo-ops with at every turn (Fiola and Torress) and it statrts to become more apparent.

Lap this loser up all you want, you Flanagan bum-kissers out there. Next thing you'll be saying is you miss the wife beating "Urinecane"... He3ll yeah I'm a "HATER"...a hater of stupidity for it's own sake which seems to be growing all over this city like a KUDZU epedemic!

The incident mentioned at Flanny's time was his buddy, fundraiser and donor Mr. Garcia who is also buddies with Joe Justice Camara who went after Ray Mitchell. Heard it wasn't just one profanity laced tirade either, sounded like he went after him multiple times. Black tie event my ass. Sounds more like schoolyard bush league shit. Hope nobody paid 100 bucks or more for those tix. Whatever I think of Ray Mitchell I feel for him having to deal with attacks from Camara and Flanny's cronies. Funny how Camara and Flanny have been fighting like cats and dogs yet they share some of the same cronies.

From a past Prov. Phoenix:

Winston Baccari

Your superior correspondents got a kick out of a June 13 front-page story in the Urinal, about the highly-desirable Capital Center site where former Providence Mayor Boy Joe Paolino is itching to put up a high-rise luxury Hyatt Hotel.

Boy Joe looking for a sweet property deal is hardly novel or wildly amusing. But the same article noted that that infamous local developer/world-class spaccone, Richard Baccari -- he of the unpaid Providence city taxes and strong-arm attempts to build condos at one of the state's most aesthetically pleasing natural sites, Black Point in Narragansett -- also has his eye on the Capital Center property for a new set of condos. (Because Richie is real condo kinda guy, a man who thinks gold chains are the height of good taste and high fashion.)

However, it appears that Baccari has yet to conquer his acute embarrassment over his Italian heritage. That obvious feeling led him to name his former development company -- now defunct -- the Downing Corporation, and to tag his developments with names that rang of posh English country locales.

So guess what his new firm is called? If you said Churchill & Banks, you could be a millionaire! Yes, our former auto body repair shop owner figures that all you have to do is slap a famed English name -- and an allusion to money -- on to your company and the next thing you know you are squiring the Queen Mum to dinner at Buckingham Palace and exchanging chit-chat about polo with Prince Chuck and Camilla Parker-Bowles. And we betcha youse could nevuh tell Richard Baccari wasn't no royalty! (From The House of Pizza?)
