  2. Only in America god bless all the poeple that have dies to give us the freedom to make signs like that. Fall River might just become a major marketplace for something not biomed, but Photoshop!! nice work

  3. This is the greatest thing the Wigb..I mean I have ever seen! I feel bad for that guy holding the sign, though. I think he might wake up tomorrow with a horse's head in his bed. After all, a man in the mayor's position cannot afford to be made to look ridiculous!

  4. A+ for originality. LOL! The Blobfather must be fuming!! Good!

  5. It was a rainy day but it was great to see everyone there holding signs!! The Bobfather signs were definitely done well!! Hopefully we're still getting our point across now in person instead of The Herald News comments section!

  6. I would march in nuclear fallout to get our point across. Vote Correia out !

  7. maybe 60 people showed...not a lot of people willing to stand up in public

    ReplyDelete
  8. in the rain in the middle of a work day.

the mayors dog and pony show had less people and it was at 6pm.

  9. btw, people that can't stand up there can vote.

  10. This may or may not inspire you to call the sixth floor. Hopefully with manpower levls as low as they are we'll be able to have a happy outcome also.

  11. "bobfather" was sporting a nice tan at the forum tonight! Must be enjoying his long weekends! He was as arrogant as ever....despite the number of people wearing anti-bob stickers. He REALLY doesn't see the end is near...very near!

  12. Was the mad momma there tonight? She should be enjoying the fruits of her labor

  13. The forum tonight was a joke. This mayor is so arrogant and demeaning. And his "supporters" are just as bad with their clapping (give me a break)! You know most of you are putting on a good show out of fear and will not vote for him on voting day. You can't possibly think he is doing a good job. He doesn't have a clue, most of the time, he double talks and I don't think he even knows what he is saying. Vote this guy out!!!

  14. who had the stop bob yard sign sticking out of their sunroof at the forum?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Somebody AWESOME!!!

  16. I'm becoming a big fan of Jordan Silvia! For those interested Comcast Channel 9 will begin airing the forum videos on Saturday.

And yes, Bob totally had panted clappers and fans in the audience.

  17. Here is my take of the makeup of the "crowd" tonight. 3 cops, several politicians (who thankfully did not speak this time), and then there were about 1/3 out of work cops and firemen, 1/3 citizens (only a few of which spoke), and at least 1/3 mayor's staff and family.

The cars in the lot were loaded with Bob bumper stickers.

He really stacked the crowd. We must have scared him bad on Monday!

  18. Congrats to those who stood for what they believe in! There's much to be said for strength in numbers.

  19. 50 people at the rally? What a flop!

    ReplyDelete
  20. The rally got these unions all over the news and newspaper. I'm not sure how that could be considered a "flop."

Anon, if you were there, you would know that 50 people is an underestimation first of all, and considering it was raining pretty steady it's actually impressive that there was a turnout that big. Secondly, neither the teachers or the firefighters had to pay their supporters for cheering like the Bobfather at his events. Thirdly, Shamrock is correct, it got the media attention it needed to get people paying attention. When people are watching, things usually go smoother because people know they are being watched. The more watching, even if it's just for curiosity or entertainment rather than in support...the better. Granted the Bobfather thinks he's untouchable, but he is not the only person standing in the way of these contracts.

  22. you gotta know he loves that sign, nice work

    ReplyDelete
  23. So let's say 100 showed up or 150.
How many people in the teachers union?
    Were they working yesterday?
    Police officers?
    Firefighters?
92,000 people live in Fall River. Were they ALL at work? Unemployment is 15 percent

  24. Had I known this was going on in FR I surely would have been there. Is this a secret society, or can you blog time and date of the next Protest?

    ReplyDelete
  25. As to posting it next time: I do not know if the unions wanted to give too much advance notice about this event. Bob might have taken off for the day.

As for the turnout, there were many teachers in classes until 2pm and many others who were working other jobs. The firefighters had a group on shift as well. The rain did deter some people.

Sadly, some union people still do not understand that involvement is important on some level, no matter how minor. Therefore, they avoid, and even criticize their own members for "causing trouble". Seems like they bought Bob and hurricane's latest spin about negativity.

One personal observation about the firefighters union (no I'm not a firefighter). these guys have such a strong bond. It seems they would walk thru fire for each other (no pun intended). We should all take a lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  26. they confirmed on wsar today that the fire union flew the banner over frca last weekend

    ReplyDelete
  27. so what. whats your point? who cares, who hired the plane. only ric oliveria and herrin. if you heard the guy from the journal and george collijezy it was brillient

    ReplyDelete
  28. How did wsar "confirm" that statement?

    ReplyDelete
  29. point is that is what was said on wsar, how can they say that isn't that considered a rumor ?!?
Is it a fact do they have proof of who flew that banner???

    talk about negative journalism.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I had binoculars and I saw who was flying the plane. It was Orville Wright.

    ReplyDelete
  31. actually it was amelia earhart.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You are all WAY off, it was the Wigberto!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think it was that madmama from HN posts

    ReplyDelete

  35. If you got paid overtime for showing up...the teachers would have been there.
If it was a paid detail the cops would have come
If it was their "side job," the firefighters would have been there

  36. In the good old Sterile Loser:

"But in Freetown, recycling is nearly none existent."
    "None existent?"
Where does The Sterile get these "reporters?"

  37. When the mayor was introduced at the free concert Friday night, the crowd booed. It was a first I hear.

Public dissatisfaction is now publicly expressed.

    ReplyDelete
  38. tat was paid fpr by the narrows why was he introduced

    ReplyDelete
  39. I heard the Mayor was booed at the Durfee Graduation earlier this year.

    ReplyDelete
  40. They'll still be booing when he gets sworn in for a second term in January.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't have a dog in this fight, but that's highly unlikely. Correia will be fortunate to survive the primary. If he receives less than half the primary votes, he's all done. He will probably receive between 35 - 40% of the primary vote. The other 60 - 65% will not support him in the final. He's simply made too many mistakes. It's going to be one and done.
